To further grow its presence in the 5G RF communications space, Cadence acquired Integrand Software, Inc., a company that provides electronic design software used to design high frequency, RF and mixed-signal complex integrated circuits (ICs) for the global semiconductor and electronics industries.

Integrand’s electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool called, EMX^®, is a planar 3D EM solver that utilizes a uniquely optimized Method of Moments (MoM) solving technology, providing fast, accurate RFIC chip EM analysis and signoff. Together with Cadence’s organically grown Virtuoso^®, Clarity™ and Sigrity™ solutions, the recently acquired AWR^® solutions and now Integrand’s EMX^® solution, Cadence offers a complete, best-in-class EM signoff solution.

This acquisition further executes upon Cadence’s Intelligent System Design™ strategy, which enables customers to deliver chips to packages/boards and large electrical systems more efficiently.
